Obstacles that wound the heart can be healed.

I could never talk about what happened. What would people think of me if they knew? If anyone found out it would cause so much grief, it’s better just to keep quiet and get on with life. But somehow I just can’t ‘get on with life’.

Sexual abuse wounds the heart. A wounded heart that is not healed properly will always affect the way we relate to others. We may relate in many ways but we will mask who we really are. If broken bones have healed incorrectly, then surgery is needed.

They will have to basically re-break the bone and re-set it properly so that it will heal correctly and function in it’s original state before the break. In the same way the wound caused by sexual abuse needs to be healed properly. Facing it will cause some initial pain but it is the path to freedom.
